program is designed to match identified at risk youths in our area with
enthusiastic, dedicated, caring adult members of our community. The purpose of this
match is to provide at risk youths with a stable adult mentoring relationship.
This mentor will provide friendship, encouragement, and support through the
various childhood/adolescence life transitions. The mentor will encourage
autonomy, assist the youth in learning decision making skills, increasing
independence, and offering unconditional positive regard. The goal of this
relationship is to create a long lasting relationship. Emphasis of this program
is relationship building. This program embraces fun and interactive activities
to improve youth’s self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, and community
relationships; thus improving their quality of life.

Y-CAPP Mentoring Program hours are Monday through Friday. Some mentors may
chose to make weekend visits. Times will vary and will be agreed upon by
mentor, mentee, and parent. The program
will not operate on National Holidays such as the 4th
of July, etc.
