The Seeds of Abraham is located in Chesterfield County off of Hopkins Road.


The Seeds of Abraham is an Independent Living Residential Facility. This program provides a quality living environment for young men ages 17-20 years old.

 
At the Seeds of Abraham, residents are offered valuable life training, superior staff resources, and are challenged to become responsible, contributing members of society. This program is designed and structured to assist each resident with fully realizing and developing their personal potential.

 

The Seeds of Abraham focuses on three fundamental program goals: Critical Thinking, Life Skills and Personal Development. Each resident works to develop - implement critical thinking skills and increase life skills to become a responsible, contributing member of society. This structured environment assists with personal growth and equips individuals with the necessary skills to realize their potential.

 

Residents will learn to properly maintain a living environment through personal responsibility. As an added support, The New Y-CAPP Inc. staff will provide guidance to ensure a safe and clean living space. Staff will also assist with mentoring individual progress, scheduling appointments and linking individuals to community services and resources. Residents and staff work together on a continuing basis to aid the personal growth and goal advancement completion for each individual.

Specifically, the Program Goals are to:

  • Teach effective communication skills
  • Assist residents in seeking Employment and Continuing Education
  • Encourage Self-reliance and the belief in their abilities
  • Guide residents in developing Financial responsibility
